@georgia eh maybe risky:
Ozone can damage certain materials, including rubber, plastics, and fabrics, causing them to degrade or discolor over time.
Depends if you wanna risk it or not
@georgia I'd lean toward that being included in "plastics/fabrics" when it comes to tarot cards. Would depend on their composition though. If you know what they're made of, I'd run a test with a similar composite first. But effects might take a while to show up, kinda like the old electronics case plastics turning yellow with UV exposure.
@georgia Yeah you only ever get a "smoke-free home" as a selling point, never a warning otherwise. But I've never seen a "perfume-free home" selling point, and for me that can be much worse.
If it was a deal-breaker for me, I'd send it.
Those ozone generator units are pretty cheap and useful for other purposes too, just gotta be conscious of the health effects... run enclosed away from inhabited spaces, ventilate thoroughly after use.
@Vo @georgia My wife buys a lot of second hand kids clothing, as well as shirts I like they don't make anymore, and ISTG, some people wash their clothing in effing bubble gum flavored soda mixed with shitty perfume before they send it out.
Makes stuff unwearable until it's sat outside for like three days and a rainstorm.
@Vo @georgia You want to talk about dryer smells? I brushed out the exhaust vent from our dryer a couple of years ago after I had to replace the thermostats in said dryer.
HUGE pile of like 20+ years of dryer lint, including from before I got my wife to switch to unscented detergent.
Old scented crap blown everywhere. Nasty stuff, lemme tell you. Thankfully it was outside.
@Vo @georgia Because no one can be bothered to spend 20 minutes with the brush kit you can get at Home Depot/Lowes for like $25. Pop it in your drill and go.
Hell, I pulled one of the toilets a couple of months back when I needed to replace the wax seal. Took it in the back yard and had the kids spray it down with the pressure nozzle on the garden hose. They had a great time. Went over it with some cleaner and a drill brush.
I'll warn you in advance: Getting a wax seal off sucks, but maybe that's because it was cold out at the time.
