@Grumblesock Postal was an underrated gem tbh, they weren't all house of the deads. Quality wise it's below Postal but it's offending the right people and has a very clear message. Definitely worth a watch.

it was not banned but the rejection of the film industry age rating means it's unrated. As an unrated movie it could very much be banned but that hasn't happened yet. Unrated movies cannot be shown in conventional movie theaters (you could show it in a non-public screening by checking every ID upon entering and also not name the film in advertisement of the screening theoretically).
So it's more a problem of the semi-private age rating board acting upon ideological inclinations but this does have legal consequences as this private institution (FSK) is legally recognized by the state and law.
A real ban by the state directly would be "Beschlagnahmt", meaning "list of seized media"

@dagda @Chzikken_1486 It's been banned off of amazon in the UK and germany, maybe others by now too, they may not officially call it a ban but they completely banned/blocked it from commercial release. If you want to see it in the UK or germany you need to VPN (which both countries are trying to make illegal) or hoist the flag, that's banned as far as I'm concerned.

it's censorship through economic means yes. Unrated movies can be commercially distributed through imports from other EU countries but considering there is no bluray/dvd yet the streaming services are the gatekeepers atm. For unrated films there are just unrated (like the Boll film), unrated + presence on the list of works endangering youth (not the case yet) and unrated + seized by the state works (not the case yet). Unrated + youth endangering movies can still be imported while seized movies are banned for everyone including adults (this usually happens with banned political propaganda like literal neo nazi agitation films, as well as media so violent that it's against human dignity, Left 4 Dead 2 was on the list back then).
I don't know how the process has been in the UK tho

I'm guessing they're held up by their own bureaucracy and/or waiting for an excuse to scapegoat it and ban it. They definitely want it banned, whether or not they technically have so far.
