@mia just scrolling notif columns isn't enough, or... ?

at least on pleromafe you can collapse the navigation, maybe we should add option to hide post form since mobile post button exists and can work on desktop

@hj i’m used to misskey/iceshrimp where i can just arrange all the widgets however i want in a customizable column/grid layout

honestly i’d be happy if i could just use custom CSS (which misskey* also allow)

speaking of CSS: might be a good idea to revise the theming? i’d suggest using a small number (maybe 2 to 4) of base/accent colors in oklch colorspace, and adapting the rest of the color scheme defaults based on those. modern CSS makes that very easy.

@hj also on misskey* there’s the option to have the new post form at the top of a timeline column

@mia new post at top (or bottom if we ever implement reversed timeline flow) is an idea i've been toying with for years now, maybe.

I kinda want to implement that eventually but it's such a difficult task and there's so many other important things to do i don't know when i feel confident doing it.

well, userstyles and admin customization exist, i'm not sure if it matters adding custom css support when users/admins can just use those tools instead and those have better implementation (syntax highlight)

Well, theming WAS revised some time ago (picrelated) but never pulled into akkomafe. Generating palette from few colors I can very much do, i had a tool that did exactly that based on an image, i was very upset that existing tools would just use different shades of accent/background for red/green/green/orange(yellow) colors, so i had a tool that would derive missing colors by hue-shifting existing ones (in LCh colorspace)

@mia On PleromaFE this hides the left sidebar regardless of window size, does it do that for you as well?

@snacks post form and navigation links hidden so it doesn’t waste all that vertical space for no reason

@scathach akko-fe doesn’t hide the nav links and post form

@mia should've maybe read the code, but you can also just scroll the sidebar a bit for the same effect tbh
