civ collapse is the good ending and it's not even close. we are so overleveraged on our natural resources that business as usual or trying to do sustainable shit is unfeasible and the likely outcomes are an AI enhanced degenerate world controller class techbrocracy or a girl's last tour adjacent perpetually collapsing global catabolic brazilification or if we're lucky some sort of crackheaded biofunk future where at least the life inside the burrows hollowed out by self-modified naked mole humans are shared with other freaks seeking protection from the machinic-organic lithotroph society above like the options here, they're not great folks

@risperdoll I think God will save us with a radical religious-societal change. I dont believe strictly in the yuga ages but were not anywhere near late enough in kali yuga for the next avatara to come and herald in satya yuga so the earth won't likely be destroyed. I have more thoughts but theyre for another time...

like i keep saying this

i don't think people are aware of what deep fucking shit we're in, how precarious the society we live in is, and how much we have fucked up the Earth. if people saw the magnitude of the atrocity we have inflected upon our planet, if they saw the effect it's had on our societies and our literal bodies, if the millions of millions of dead creatures were laid out at our feet, and the massive gouges in the world come into our vision and the guilt and the opportunity for repentance were laid out before us, maybe that would save us

but I have my doubts

@georgia my personal theory is the kali yuga will involve AI-organic hybrids rising to dominance capable of feeling exquisite suffering but with no knowledge of the dharma
