Well for me mods, specially FTB ones are pretty cool in the sort of "I'm going to build wicked factory shit" like some kind of mad scientist.
Wicked being an important keyword, like pretty sure it's why I'm not much into factorio, it's too restrictive.
Other part that I quite like about mods is having more mobs, either to add more challenge or add more cute animals.

@thatguyoverthere @hidden @lanodan @k YES! Computercraft is the best! My FTB:IE:E base has over 50 Computercraft programs, all of which I wrote myself for everything from tinker's construct smeltery automation to an ender dragon grinder using botania mana spreaders and openblocks fans.

But well I already knew shell and I think also bits of Java (bukkit plugins mostly).

@druid @hidden @lanodan @k I lost access to my Minecraft account, but I have been enjoying luanti as much if not more than I ever did. For a good tech pack I like tech age, but for probably the past 6 months I've. Been playing and modding exile which is basically a super difficult game with only low tech available. Kind of the opposite of automation but a lot of multi block structures like the tinkers construct iirc.
