I need to stop eating crab I didnt realize it was boiled alive like lobster I thought it was smashed to death. I barely eat it but my second favo sushi roll has crab

splashgarden@vocalounge.cafe@georgia Tbh it's become a lot more common among cooks to give both crab and lobster a quick kill via a single chop before cooking to prevent the pain of boiling alive as awareness of the pain they suffer during the process has increased. I imagine you can ask before you order a dish with crab or lobster whether or not they boil their crab/lobster alive and make your decision accordingly
