this is a hot take but Wizard of Earthsea is more trad morally than LOTR

@nuukaset @scathach it's pretty hard to compare and also depends what you mean by "trad".

LOTR is a lot more on the nose about industrialization being the enemy and whatnot

@yakmacker @scathach well im talking about the character and story.
older hero stories arent really about good vs evil but about men and women overcoming some type of adversity of their own.
you see this with ged when he fights his own gebbeth until he realises its a part of him and becomes one with it. alot of older stories are like that too no? characters are morally grey people who are only heros because they choose to deal with something instead of being handed some destiny.

tbf this isnt true for the farthest show and maybe atuan tho.
