a zoom lens is very hard to use right

@cell as long as you don't need massive focal lengths just having a single fixed prime with me has worked nice so far. Sometimes i just have to get creative with my positioning

@cell what I like about prime is that it brings a level of consistency to your photos in the shape of perspective

@snacks @cell my zoom lens has been fine as well. though sometimes autofocus is a little bit annoying but i can either adjust the focus point or just turn it off (i used to insist on the latter and it was stupid)

i want to get 35mm but one big problem
i already have a camera with 35mm focal length (x100vi) scremcat
maybe 50mm..

@coolbean @cell setting focus point without touchscreen seems annoying and the autofocus never focuses perfectly with my chinese lens, so i stopped using it for anything but video puniko_shrug

@cell primes are awesome. I use a 24/2.8, 50/1.4, 60/2.8 macro, and 500/8. some day I will afford a 24-70/2.8 like yours. a fast prime lets you do lots of things like: low light, super shallow DoF, and buy more lenses because they're less expensive. oh and they're often smaller. the 50/1.4 is my favorite and default if I can only take one lens.
