In theory you can then migrate your account by scrolling down to the bottom of preferences / settings and clicking through. It failed when I tried just now, whether that is a bug in Spinster 1 or what IDK. However, all that really does is copy your profile and follows, so instead just import that file you downloaded the other day and re-do your profile.

BUT right now the TL is absolutely nuts with posts from 2021 and stuff, as this instance is only just federating, so you might want to leave it a few days to actually start using the new instance.

Huh: and adding a Subject here results in a CW on Spinster1. Weird.

I honestly don't know, I consider our Spinsisters to be in kind of a ''it's not like I like you or anything" association with each other, but I rarely lore dive on goings on.

Yeah, basically Alex and MK got into Nostr and fucked off. The increasing instability and security vulnerabilities meant a new instance seemed sensible.

Did you (get Himself to) save that file the other day? You now need to reverse the process and import it on the new instance. I’m pretty sure I can’t do it for you from this end, I’m afraid.

Or you can just add people manually. Go to the Local timeline (in the menu) and you’ll see who’s posting. Or go to my profile and you’ll see people at the top of my Follows list.

@flick I think I might have managed it myself...faints!...but not completely sure if worked right. I'll get him to have a look at it tomorrow, he was going to have a dek today but developed a migraine after dinner and no, I did not poison the man deliberately.

I got it to work individually. Went in my old spin account, Settings, then Export Data and I exported the three items, Blocks, Mutes and Follows

Then it's just a question of doing the reverse in here at Club. Settings, Import Data.

Can I gently suggest not importing blocks? I really would rather they be reserved for users on other instances. Blocking Spinsters reduces the quality of the experience for all of us.

I have to sift through the follows and blocks but will do this when I have time.
