Not slander, this is (mostly) true, british cuisine is not great.

British food is just well made and actually tastes nice. The 'bad' British foods are mostly just memes no one eats anyway, like Haggis.

People think it's bland because we don't rape our food like Amerikkkans do with 50 different seasonings in one dish. Americans have the taste palate of niggers.

When people thinks of European cuisine british is far down the bottom of the list compared to french, italian or spanish cuisine, though to be fair those three are naturally superior given Mediterranean cuisine is just the best in the world.

Name three british dishes you think are good by the way.

In all seriousness, the one's you've probably already heard of. Roast Sunday dinner, Fish and chips, Shepherds pie, Toad in the hole. Those are all lovely dishes in my opinion. When cooked well, they're as nice, if not nicer, than many 'world foods', in my opinion at least.

You've clearly never had fish and chips then, it's nothing like McDonalds.

McDonald's isn't just bad because it's fried, it's bad because it's poorly made. The fries are overly salty and just don't taste great, the meat is usually small and thin and the food is super dry.

A good fish and chips however is completely different, the chips are tasty and fish is moist, the batter is soft and light, but really tasty.

Fried food will never get my pass as good food, period.

Literally anything, no matter how bad, can taste edible if it's fried. It's not even worth calling cooking, it's just a lazy cheat. The nutritional value is also dogshit.

Example: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Banana_fritter

It's not like I fry my own chicken. I don't even own a deep frier, but I'll have it occasionally at a place like KFC. It's pretty good, I can't imagine not liking it. It's inoffensive flavour wise, at worst the oil can make it sickly, so just don't eat that much of it.

I had banana fritter once, it was actually alright, even if the texture is weird. Mind you, I wouldn't buy it on purpose.

@meso @sally @yomiel are we talking about specifically deep frying to cook food or what, cuz in my eyes frying is when you put food on a skillet and you fry it on it

Deep frying. You can deep fry things in a larger pot, so long as it's fairly deep. I think my mom used to make chicken burgers like that.

Regular frying in a frying pan is when you just put a small amount of oil in and fry it on the surface of the pan, rather than coating it

I used to use one but honestly I don't use it any more, I just don't really have a proper use case for it. Almost anything can be made on a hob or inside an oven.

@dagda @lina @meso @yomiel

Or just get an oven with convection function which is the same, but bigger and can be used to bake stuff rather than fake-fry goyslop, which fucking sucks in an airfryer anyway.

@sally @lina @yomiel i remember when goyslop started appearing as a term i think i first heard it from adachi it was so funny to me

@yomiel @lina @dagda @meso

It's just a small and worse oven, it makes zero fucking sense as you can't bake stuff that you'd be able to bake with a proper oven.

@sally @dagda @lina @yomiel with convection. i dont understand why they dont sell mini ovens like that. theyd be like air fryers without the gay nigga name

Even more than once is too much. In fact if you barely ever deal with it then the easier it is to avoid it altogether. But then again, you drink alcohol anyway so it's no wonder.

@yomiel @lina @sally its like homelab. i like the word. lab. home. homelab. but it's used so much by consumerist redditors shilling their latest buttplug.io integration to their NAS id rather shoot myself in the head than use it

Maybe it's just in England, since most *merican food places are drive-throughs on large roads, but most of the time you eat fast food like that, it's in the middle of a shopping area like a high street. If I eat KFC, I'm probably out and about shopping with people and we'll go inside to sit down and eat lunch. In that way, it's rather easy. The only other option of eating food would be to go to a corner shop and eat a sandwich or a pasty instead. I'd never buy KFC to bring back to my house.
