@reia honestly i HATE that fedi backends touch the text formatting at all . to the server the post content should be totally opaque it shouldnt matter at all why do they touch it

@fiore @reia yea the way text formatting on fedi works is awful. how do the servers even communicate with eachother? is it just plain text with a marker like "this is markdown"?

@fiore @reia but also i think we should use micropub for c2s, microsub for s2c and websub and webmentions for s2s because all of these protocols are way better designed than fucking activitypub oh my fucking god

@fiore @coolbean @reia it's html iirc, atleast it gets delivered as such, and filtered dow. to protect against xss and the like to a reaspnable subset. other formatting gets converted into it
