Almost every bread item for sale has added sugar. They just dump tons of cane sugar or corn syrup into bread. I had to search hard and pay double for a brand of wheat bread with none of that crap in it.
The FDA is worthless. No wonder Americans are obese and have tons of health problems.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad Try making sourdough, it's even better for you than regular (no added sugar) bread, just let it ferment overnight
Kimchi, sauerkraut, pickles, yogurt, kefir, wine & vinegar ... Fermented rice, tempe.. I'm a big believer in the health benefits of fermenting food, it's a good step away from the goyslop
@noyoushutthefuckupdad why don't folk widely protest this stuff, saaving like 1000s a month from cardiovascular issues is more respectable than the bullshit people make a fuss about, and should have bipartisan appeal :?
@noyoushutthefuckupdad Even Whole Foods and Trader Joe's are guilty of this? I remember seeing an old but good book by Jeffrey Hamelman about bread baking that doesn't need too much sugar. It's worth a buy.
@noyoushutthefuckupdad Sprouts Farmers Market is another similar store; I once saw some actual fat crossdressers while I was finding some groceries. Then again, this was within Downtown Dallas. Despite this, there's some great bread (and some other stuff) being discounted by about 30% because of the "sell by" date.
