perhaps it's rhetoric but i think an understanding that all meaning is contrived can lead to a non vulgar sort of utiliarianism, making meaning of things that needn't have it, conjuration of a transcendent ethic where it serves us, where it is beautiful. of course, a non contrived Meaning in this nihilist but hopeful framing would be not unlike God.

@lain @orekix were the definition of God stretched generously the only alternative to a higher purpose in some form is a hidden variable and those two are not unalike.
