> How addicted are you to fedi?

I open a new tab, and open bloat.freesoftwareextremist.com[1], and then notice that my only other tab is also running home timeline of [1].

@Pi_rat @redstarfish I bet the web browser you use isn't even free software.

BloatFE is like the best fediverse client out there. I'm using web browser, just so I can use BloatFE.

@redstarfish @r Not even close, it doesn't support multiaccount.

@redstarfish @Zergling_man The name bloat is only half joke because you need a bloated web browser to use it properly.
Mastadon is built around web protocols. User posts are stored in HTML format so you need an HTML parser/render to view the posts. oauth flow requires a working browser to login. You can make a non-browser program for it, but in the end you'll have to implement a lot of web browser functionality in it.

Most posts don't, and I can just add a button to open a post's contents in lynx.

@redstarfish @r [If I want to be fancy I could add a function that reports the % difference between the plain and HTML versions of a post, then display plain by default.

Multi-account support is a nothingburger, in my humble opinion only something that someone terminally online would care about, besides you can have multiple accounts logged in using multiple browser profiles.

@dagda @r @redstarfish @sally @Zergling_man yea that's the point of minimal software, you plug in what you need and nothing more
