@snacks we actually didn't domesticate cats
we just had all these granaries full of grain that attracted mice and rats and the cats followed
they just kinda stayed around
and they bring you (mostly) alive prey because they do the same to their kittens, so they can learn to hunt
they think you're a terrible hunter

@snacks ur either not giving them enough time or your cats are incompetent because little baby frodo when he was literally a kitten just a few weeks old purged our kitchen of all rodent intruders

@coolbean had one cat that would just sit in a room if there was the slightest hint of mouse and catch them the second they went out of cover. No other one did that tho

@coolbean that one was crazy, took her 2 weeks to finally figure out that she can go through the cat door without us shoving her through or holding it open and that day she caugjt 2 birds and a mouse

@coolbean whenever i didn't give her fresh meat for more than 2 days there would be feathers all over the house
