@dtluna @icedquinn asahi linux preferring fedora and KDE is forcing me to move from debian and xfce and I kinda love that

@georgia @dtluna gtk is easier to deal with if you're not writing everything in c++. mostly because wrapping C sucks less, and is either automated already (SWIG) in many cases or not too terrible to automate.
KDE is "better," but qt licensing for the longest time made it shit for non-gpl people that didn't want to buy in to trolltech. then it was not shit for a little while, then afaik the new owners made it shit again.
so the usual sentiment afaik is KDE is technically more competent but Gnome is what everyone who has to develop software ends up supporting

With how GTK4 turned out to be a disaster for everyone making apps for anything other than gnome (especially DEs), this is no longer the case. The KDE-Qt licensing agreement isn't the greatest, but still better than dealing with things Ebassi and his clones throw at you.
