@ledocool It’s popular enough that it just has to be addressed at some point. But I don’t she would be able to do it on a stream due to Youtube censorship.
🌿
@mangeurdenuage Youtube censorship is annoying. She would never be able to make a proper reaction video to it unless she used a different platform to post it on.
🌿
@mangeurdenuage There are some vtubers on peertube/owncast actually.
@Pi_rat @hakui @mangeurdenuage Yeah I don’t understand why twitter is like the main place where most artists go? I guess pixiv is terrible too.
Literally the only artists I see on fedi are the ones that make lolicon because they are banned from twitter. I wish most artists who’s work I posted actually had a fedi account so I could just boost their posts instead of reupload it.
@hakui @mangeurdenuage Fucking Discord lol.
I cringe every time I see a collab stream where 1M+ subscriber Vtubers are talking over Discord and you can hear the distinct awful sound quality and bitcrushing that Discord likes to do. It’s so fucking unprofessional.
Like I am very certain that Hololive or whatever company can definitely afford to pay someone to host their own high quality Mumble server or whatever.
🌿
@Pi_rat @hakui @mangeurdenuage But yeah that’s my point, I mean to name loli as an example. Most artists on fedi are only here because banned from twitter.
I often try to look for artists that I enjoy here, but I can almost never find them. If you’re lucky they might have a bluesky, but definitely always twitter, never fedi.
@mangeurdenuage @hakui Yeah it’s crazy. They have Vtuber models that cost thousands of dollars to commission and super expensive rigs and whatever.
And then use it to TALK ON DISCORD AT 64KBPS OPUS ENCODING MY EARS ARE BLEEDING STOP

she adressed it on her twitter: https://xcancel.com/pipkinpippa/status/2074780995715465242
@PurpCat @SuperDicq @mangeurdenuage @Pi_rat @hakui The 8chan/quarantine problem doesn't have to be about politics or whatever is banned on the mainstream sites.
I do agree that "competitors" have to be containment sites, but instead of being containment sites for topics that are banned, just do what Vidlii did and make it a containment site for people who are nostalgic for simpler times. Vidlii in particular is for those who are nostalgic for old-school (pre-2009) YouTube. The content posted there reflects that, and I hardly see any political content on there.
I'm pretty sure Tumblr and DeviantArt went through drastic changes over the years and people are yearning for simpler times. Just make a site like old-school DeviantArt or Tumblr and attract that audience. You can then add federation simply as a bonus feature and then you can get a sizable and somewhat diverse (in tastes) audience.
