have i mentioned i hate the media's editorialistic policy of eschewing the word female? why are male nurses male nurses and male strippers male strippers but female politicians are "woman politicians"? it tries to be less sexist but just makes female into a dirty word, like the tendency to avoid the word "Jew" and say "Jewish person". or is it a trans-inclusive thing? i honestly don't get it.

@alyx i think we should really ask the question of why people care about trans womens feelings more than trans mens. i think it's mostly the belief that women (cis women in this case) should just be accommodating of whatever while trans men don't want to rock the boat. the other part is fear. a lot of cis women fear trans women, but i cis men don't fear trans men.
