Did iphone design improve or have people just become more careful? I haven't seen an iphone with broken screen in ages when that used to be a super common sight

@snacks They all have gorilla glass-esque glass, so that's probably why.

@phnt but they had that forever at the same grade as android phones afaik

I wonder if it's because phone contracts are more common now. Less people get hand-me-downs from family or buy their phone outright, so when it cracks they just start a new contract.

@snacks Possible that it stopped sucking at being a better glass, because I haven't seen a broken screen on an Android phone for a while either. Phone cases might have also contributed to that as they became more popular I guess.

@phnt @snacks I think people are more careful and they use cases and their phones have better glass. Cuz I used to drop my phone a lot and for older ones it'd be over for it, but my Oppo hit the concrete several times before I intentionally dropped it to show off and it cracked. but now I very rarely do drop it, I dropped it on concrete yesterday when I was sleepy and it didn't crack. I've dropped it on pavement and only the case had a chip on the corner which was scary

@phnt @snacks the bigger issue is that Google has factory defective displays that develop a line through them
