the absolute state of HDR in computing:
* Windows 11: Somehow actually works
* macOS: artificially limits your display bandwidth based on internal scaling resolution so you can't use it at all unless you use a low refresh rate or low/no scaling factor
* Linux: Lets you enable it, then you have no graphical output and you have to reboot and go into the console and edit a config file to disable it so your computer will work again
