@ageha @Moon @orekix @whiteline perhaps it's more dangerous to be prostituted than before (I've never seen this claim before but I can see why) but human trafficking has decreased, and so have overall deaths of prostituted women and overall violence against prostituted women, and prostitution itself has decreased.
regardless, prostitution is antithetical to womens' equality as a class. most prostitutes are poor, or immigrants, or racial minorities, hardly empowered sorts. prostituted people have a higher rate of PTSD than war vets.
If women are hungry, they should be fed, not expected to pick up "sex work" as a "career". Almost all sex work is exploitation.
