Yt is finally managing to break all the alternative frontends? I'll have to figure out how to get whatever fucking cookies it wants

@snacks They periodically break newpipe and I have to go into the issues section to find whatever temporary dev build gets around it. It's been going on for years, what's new?

@druid there's been no new buold for a while, also never had yt-dlp and newpipe break together. It seems they constantly generate new cookies in browsers now even when not logged in to differentiate their frontends from 3rd party stuff?

@snacks yt-dlp has an arg which grabs your cookies off your browser to let you download a video. the trade off is that average yt-dlp command is rather lengthy now

@kirby @snacks it works great btw I use it to download age-gated videos from youtube. I've heard if you use it too often though you get banned from youtube

@jeffcliff @snacks there are some formats which return forbidden...
usually using deno as js runtime and then selecting a different format with the same quality should work.
But i had some issues yesterday too and found a github issue telling everyone you can build / update yt-dlp from main branch which fixed stuff (i also forgot that yt-dlp nowdays require deno tho so im not sure if the update alone fixed it)

Debian/devuan builds do not use deno, i think they use nodejs or something
