also I'm just saying but the Iranian government's official stance on trans women despite not being great is still technically more progressive than that of the United States

@nyx they arent allies of any kind they just believe in free gay conversion therapy. trans rights at the cost of gay rights isnt a good thing.

FUN FACT: East Germany also decriminalized homosexuality before the west did :)

@nyx true, if I were Iranian instead of Cancuckistani I would have gotten my state funded SRS by now

@georgia sure seems like it's perfectly acceptable in the west when it's the other way around :^)

@steff yeah but it's still funny that it's factually true. Iran says trans women are women

@nyx @steff yet their definition of trans woman is "likes men exclusively and is feminine and therefore is eligible for free surgeries". they just want to create a new caste of women under a patriarchy thats not radical at all.

@georgia @steff @nyx They are islamo-blanchardians, I see makes sense

@georgia @nyx Who said it was radical? or liberationary? or even queer? But the simple fact that legally trans women are women in Iran should create some pause for thought.

@JaneDough @georgia @nyx If that were true, it would at least be hilarious. Instead it’s conversion therapy via transition.

@JaneDough @steff @nyx Iran doesnt just transition straight trans women either. they hate gay men and lesbians so they coerce regular cis gays to transition against their will. its not trans rights its homosexual erasure.

@georgia @JaneDough @nyx There’s not belief in AGP or commitment or a “erotic target relocation” to the gynocentric self. Rather, it’s a strange body/soul essentialism.

@steff @JaneDough @nyx its less like blanchard and more like invert theory

@steff @georgia @nyx I kinda think AGP shit is basically a medicalised belief in body/soul essentialism tbh

@georgia @steff @nyx I always thought of Blanchard as being a form of invert theory, but perhaps I am mistaken

@JaneDough @steff @nyx for hsts its similar to invert theory, agps are just seen as paraphiliacs

@georgia @steff @nyx yeah, Blanchard's innovation was creating a category of evil deceptive fake inverts

@JaneDough @steff @nyx actually to be fair before blanchards time there was a working two type theory, comprised of '"gay men" who desired to transition early in life and "late transitioners" who were asexual or liked women and didnt desire to transition until after puberty. Blanchard's theory of autogynephilia (that it was an immutable characteristic like an orientation, not just a kink) helped made it acceptable for post-puberty transitioners to be eligible for things like HRT. before Blanchard, "transvestic fetishists" were considered a bad candidate for transition. a lot of trans women dont know this and think blanchard opposed their transition. but he was the opposite.

@JaneDough @nyx @steff not saying he was good for trans women he was very bad and still is, but Blanchard doesnt oppose any trans woman transitioning in my understanding

@georgia @steff @JaneDough Blanchardian typology was made up so him and Michael J. Bailey could rape trans women. please shut the fuck up about this
