@druid I wonder if I can even see those schedules without the hell that is Twitter for the ones that aren't on Twitch.

@lanodan Schedules are why I end up joining chuubas' discords (and then they never post them anyway!)
I doubt my oshi will be streaming on Valentines day, she's been wagecucking a lot and barely streaming at all :c

@druid Discord is even worse, Twitter at least there's stuff like nitter (some of them still work) but they're a pain to browse into.

@druid Well I want an account on neither, twitter you can browse without an account, while discord without an account… IIRC you need a special invite link and I'm not even sure that's still a thing.

@druid (That said would be very happy if both of those would go heavily bankrupt and their owners get even more debt, specially for Twitter)

@snacks @druid Made me want to check and Chaturbate now requires ID verification :(
I guess I'll be stuck to Japanese sites.

@lanodan @snacks It's going to be inevitable everywhere soon, for absolutely everything. That AI edit of the final MGS2 conversation that did the rounds a year or two ago was right - the powers that be are seeking a total end to all online anonymity.

There will always be a dark web, but I don't think it's practical to try and stick completely to it. Soon, we won't be able to do anything at all on the clearnet without a biometric passport.

@druid @snacks Well we'll just continue to exchange our porn stashes via torrents :D

@lanodan @snacks Personally, I don't even care anymore. What are they going to do, out me as a pervert? Who cares?

To play devil's advocacy for the powers that be, I'd rather use an internet where I can tell who's a real person and who's a shitty AI. I'd also rather use an internet where people can tell who generated what with AI, even if that comes with the dreaded "IRL consequences for online conduct" (which have been around for at least 20 years anyway, don't let anyone fool you.)

It's like the discord thing. I'll be a good boy (I already was, they rolled out the changes in the UK preemptively last head anyway) when using their services, and be a bad boy on Matrix or whatever other janky alternative solution is doing the rounds. Just because I'm willing to log in via Google for this or that doesn't mean I'm not misbehaving on all the usual protocols anyway lol, it's not a big deal for me if I can't discuss my lurid secrets on platforms like discord anyway. (I haven't for a long time, it's a fucking centralised service where admins and feds can read anything you say.)

Tl;dr: I'll play along to a limited level, everyone needs to be good at having filters in obvious public spaces anyway.

@druid @snacks Well to me it's not really the privacy stuff but more like:
- It's a heaven for scams due to constant data leaks, I don't want to encourage that garbage
- 99.999…% of that stuff requires proprietary garbage on smartphones where the kernel-level anti-cheats of Windows pales in comparison

@druid @snacks Plus well the torrent bit should have made it rather obvious, it's pretty much publicly broadcasting what you seek and what you have to any half-competent government agency.

@lanodan @snacks I'm sure they know all that about me anyway, lol. I've been very lazy, logged into pornhub through Google and who knows what else.

Also, again to play devil's advocate, ID verification on discord should help it stop being such a cesspit of scams, grooming etc., no? At this point I only use it for conversations I'd be happy to have on a phone anyway, or to interact with communities where good conduct is a must anyway. 90% of the time when I see someone complain about how discord won't let them do this or that, it's someone wanting to post loli and shota. You'd have to be stupid to do that on a centralised service anyway, surely

@lanodan @snacks Oh, or stinky chuds I guess, but tbh I have less sympathy for those than I used to.

@druid @snacks I doubt the ID verification bit will lower the amount of grooming going on in Discord, remember who's in the Epstein files. :D
Scams though will probably get lower, although "send .exe to people and make them execute it" will probably not change.

@lanodan @snacks I'd say "I think the international pedo cabal has slightly more sophisticated methods" but judging by the Epstein files, maybe not, lol. GREAT TORTURE VIDEO, I LOVED IT, SENT FROM MY IPHONE

@druid @snacks Yeah their sophisticated methods are just having good lawyers.

@druid @snacks Well, yeah, good lawyers.

Epstein got almost nothing at his first conviction because his lawyers managed to paint the witnesses as unreliable (heavy drugs IIRC, which well… of course they would) and some of them didn't attend the court.

@lanodan @snacks True. Of course, he probably had shit on the judge anyway. And the prosecution! Everyone seems to have been implicated in this thing. God, it grinds my fucking gears seeing chuds rant about the international pedo cabal and then cheer for the pedo president and his pedo lackeys anyway.
