I'm just a czech trying to find his place in the federated web.

Matrix: @takom:matrix.org
@snacks @georgia @lucy Impressive that I command such a reputation for being a shitter 5 years later. Unfortunately the world has gone so insane in that time that I'm probably a moderate at this point.

@lucy @georgia @snacks So anyways, out of curiosity, what is Akkoma and why use it over Pleroma? Is Lain no longer working on Pleroma?

@snacks @tuxcrafting If you want fast, then Chez is known for being pretty damn fast, and it's still in active development (since 1985), the last release being in January.

@snacks @tuxcrafting I'll have to admit I never actually tried carp, lisp with no GC and static typing sounds pretty scary, not to mention carp is a research project and lisp wasn't designed for either of what it's trying to accomplish. It kinda seems like it's making things unnecessarily hard on yourself.

@snacks C gives you enough rope to hang yourself with. Forth keeps throwing nooses around your neck. I'm not man enough to give up type checking.

@snacks Lisp with me baby.

Also Chicken Scheme is the best Lisp.

@matrix Hmm. How do the two compare, actually?

My humble opinion is that Elixir is a much better backend lang, but I never compared the actual codebase.

@matrix stop using miss.key just because it has an anime girl mascot and start using pleroma

@snacks It is, but it makes sense, especially if you factor in the square-cube law.

I spend way too much time around macrofigs.

@snacks Samus is "shorter". She's 6'3", meanwhile Noi is 6'10". Noi is also a major league beefcake, while Samus is just like, minor league beefcake.

Now that I think about it, the mentality of a programmer and a pet is pretty similar. You do tricks for the management, doing your best for their approval, the highlight of your work being getting praised if you do a good job, or scolded if you make a little accident in the codebase.
