@genmaicha @grumbulon actually may not have been a full hazmat that was required. I think just an N99 facemask suffices because its usually not transmitted between people. its an incredibly scary disease though. if you dont die you are often badly disfigured.

@genmaicha @grumbulon one time a patient had suspected mucormycosis and the resident wasnt told to get a hazmat suit before handling the specimen (the resident and the patient both turned out fungus free!)

@grumbulon I used to work at a histopathology lab (when I wasnt a NEET parasite) and heard of a case of one guy who got CJD from shooting a cow in the head at an abattoir. the brain aerosolized and he inhaled it.
