the rasa lila chapters of the BP are almost perfect if not perfect. its the commentaries that have good and bad stuff, mostly good though

krishna "didnt reciprocate" because they loved him without motive, thus he gave them the reward they wanted which is a reciprocation, that reward is no reward but moreso that reward is the the bliss of bhakti yoga, which is the highest reward, so he did reciprocate. God is always capable of reciprocating the love of a yogi (the gopis are yoginis indeed many were great sages in past lives), for he is a yogi and yogis share his heart of infinite love. likewise yogis share his ananda, bliss, which is unsurpassed. God is neither a debtor nor is he lacking in inherent bliss.

I really dont understand why caitanyas are so concerned about "improperly mixed rasas" (devotional relationship attitudes towards God). like can't someone consider God their beloved, and their friend, and their Lord? why is this a problem? I really dont get it. maybe its because they want it to be without contradiction, allowing for complete absorption in the role? I just dont get it.

smh guys God doesnt need ignorance to love infinitely and he isnt "controlled by" love for his bhaktas, he is the Lord of Love (among other qualities of saguna brahman). the whole element of the bhagavata purana where God describes himself as controlled like a puppet by his bhaktas is not literal sure, and maybe I dont understand divine love (I dont), but it bothers me. maybe God is just humble beyond my understanding.

criticism of many vaishnavite sects

if serving God in goloka is the highest destination, then all will attain it one day. if oneness with God is superior, then all will attain it one day. why would God grant us chance after chance in life after life only to permanently confine someone to a lesser outcome in a judgment based on their last life?
