I post silly cats sometimes
"we come from God and unto God we return". yet so many religions have qualms with the second part, or interpret it loosely...

@technicallydifficult @vriska Arabs themselves have a lot of African admixture, but the jewish people predates this admixture. I read this in a relatively recent genetic study on jews which found that all major jewish populations along with Palestinians Jordanians and Lebanese are around 50 percent indigenous Canaanite. so yeah, if you want to know what jesus looked like as an indigenous semite, look at a Samaritan or a Druze, not a yemeni jew, who is quite admixed with arabs. Druze and especially Samaritans can be quite pale skinned, but in reality they are a range of skin tones from white to brown, kinda like the french and italians. also consider that the apostle paul, who was also jewish at the time of jesus, was known to be ruddy red and paler skinned. however jesus was probably very tanned not having a permanent residence so he would definitely be brown but not black, or sub-saharan african.

@technicallydifficult @vriska this isnt true actually. indigenous semitic peoples who havent been arabized like Yemeni jews and most Arabs tend to be lighter skinned, like Samaritans and Druze. not as light skinned as euro jews but definitely not black.

@nerthos I agree that birth into caste is based on karma but it is better to tailor dharma to the individual based on their qualities than it is based on their caste. this is even stated in this purana I just read from even though its pretty brahmana centric.
