pretty sure that the embodied soul is both a part of God and God and even if its just a part it gets merged into God after death. this is the plain reading of the Gita.

@djsumdog he sees God as Ishvara (classic monotheistic lordly God) and as Brahman (the Ultimate Reality). he sees the souls as a tiny fraction of the Ultimate Reality, which is pure consciousness--existence/truth, knowledge, bliss. he has a similar philosophy to ramanuja but with an occasional advaita tinge to it.

even though Sridhara thinks that the soul is but a tiny part of God he still believes that the soul is Brahman (Thou art That) and that the liberated attain "Brahmanness".
