@patchuun @morrigan I love Hitchcock and the twilight zone and I dont mind jump scare or campy slasher shit. but I do hate torture porn especially in mental health settings

@patchuun @morrigan hearing an older kid describe Saw II to another older kid helped make me clinically depressed for the first time (age nine). of course being forced to watch the staircase murders and my teacher mistreating me were bigger factors but...

@technolyze I think those people aren't true karma yogis who are doing something for God without desiring the fruit of reward for it. they always want the fruit... but youre right that surrendering to God fully can make many unclean things clean, but obviously malum en se things are still malum en se. it is impossible I would say for a sentiment of evil and of God surrender to exist, so that even the aghoris are called sadhus...

@technolyze its doing it for God and not for karma or for heaven that matters. basically karma yoga. its not easy though.

the pancadhyayis main flaw obviously is that krishna says he can't repay the gopis. obviously he can. I think his point could be said to be that they were already all master yoginis with brahman-knowledge, thus one cant be higher than that and still live so their only reward was their own excellence. but of course the very experience of their love WAS his own reward to them...

@yakmacker their ideology is not that, its basically that one can't truly become God even though one came from Him so the best thing one can experience is to love and be in awe of God for all time.

although by merging into God they often mean merging into his form which isnt truly merging... likewise their definition of sadharmya is different from mine because they aren't true monists who believe in a true monist end

perhaps my biggest complaint with many vaishnavites is that they believe in a God-abode as the final beautitude instead of just believing in merging with God which they think is inferior in bliss to being separate, which I think is nonsense

madhura rasa is definitely the most misunderstood rasa even though its one of the most potent. and worship of God as a servant savior and humble king, someone who controls you and yet suffered for you kind of defies existing hindu rasas, it mixes rasas for sure (which isnt a bad thing!)

people sometimes call the gita govinda the hindu song of songs but I would say its the rasa-pañcadhyayi. I talk smack about the bhagavata purana but that part of it is almost perfect. in comparison the gita govinda is rather flawed in its portrayal of krishna though I never finished it due to not feeling it was sufficiently holy.
