I post silly cats sometimes
how can the bliss of loving God be greater than the bliss of Gods own ananda? aren't they both infinite beyond all numbering, for Gods love is infinite and to know the atman is to have Gods own heart? (or the heart of a Buddha) makes me think these bhaktas werent fully enlightened... questions...

I do however agree that lack of concern with liberation is incredibly noble!

huxley seemed to claim that the Mahayanist way of preferring neither nibbana nor samsara and thus knowing Suchness/the buddha-womb as all things is superior, my current bhakti yoga book claims bhakti yoga reveals a higher reality than jnana yoga or karma yoga because it creates an ecstatic love for the ishvara which is beyond the atman known in all yoga. who's right? hmmm? neither i think! there are many paths to full enlightenment, and all produce the same fruit--unity with God upon death.

not a fan of this guy lemme tell ya. not just his dualism and his lack of universalism but his view on grace as being necessarily won through various merits. his claiming to be an avatar despite not ever being enlightened. and the "miracles he performed" are all super weird!

reading this book is interesting sure (especially with regard to christian mysticism) but I wouldve gotten a lot more out of reading the bhagavad gita again I think. or the principal upanishads.

huxley is pissing me off with this whole chapter on egregores. God is immanent in all His creation! it seems he does not truly understand the Bhagavad Gita which he quotes from in calling all worship except of God within "idolatry". all worship is of Krishna... and all powers are from Him, so who cares about egregores and what counts as magick? plus some things are genuinely revealed by God and thus closer to Him and thus very sacred... smdh
