treating the bible as just one form of ancient mythology and religion equally divinely inspired (which is to say, not) as ancient Greek or ancient mesopotamian religion is quite simply a product of not reading any of the above mentioned things. the religion of the bible started as monolatrism yes but one can't deny it made the world monotheistic.

I should talk more about why I dont like the book of job and why I think suffering (despite being better understood as Gods justice or worse, wrath) is God teaching us with love not God testing our integrity (He already knows our hearts, anyway).

8th of August it's my birthday.

ive been very lucky in life that death has barely affected me. sammy my cat was the most impactful death. and the last time I lost a grandparent I was 9.

mom called me with urgent news. my papa died on his fucking birthday. im honestly just in shock. my nana had a severe stroke a few years ago and is entirely dependent on him and is bad at managing emotions and stress now. obviously she is devastated and she hasnt given up the body yet.
