some ancient indian philosophers believed in atoms btw not just the greeks. it certainly beats substance theory with more than one svabhava.

vedantas treatment of cause and effect (karana and karya) is so neat. of course the different schools give very different treatments.

God isnt merely immortal, He/Shes beyond time completely, and self-existent.

a stupid fucking wasp was really into me and kept crawling on me and pinching me like it was trying to eat me. it kinda hurt, though not as much as a sting ofc

i do not like when hindus describe the dreaming state as merely the creation of the mind from mental impressions from the subconscious and from past lives. that makes it seem less real than the waking state when its just usually more transient and less universal. i believe that much of dreaming sleep (svapna) is created by impressions but that it also is a window into universal/divine archetypes through the intuition. God often sends messages in dreams. i should note that my understanding of dreams is pretty half-baked, just like my understanding of intuition.

my sister had a near-death experience that felt very much like my numinous experiences and i dont think thats a coincidence. she described it as falling asleep within the sunshine with no pain (she has chronic pain), which also reminds me of sushupti aka dreamless sleep because she said it was like dreamless not dreaming sleep and that she had no consciousness of her body and that she was happy. (people are usually totally unconscious in dreamless sleep but in hinduism the jiva is believed to experience bliss in dreamless sleep, but is ignorant of this bliss upon waking.)

because dreamless sleep also called prajna by the mandukya upanishad is characterized by not having a mind or antahkarana and as characterized by ignorance like in waking and dreamless sleep (it is not the fourth state turiya) my sister now seems to think that death is absorption into complete nothingness, which is wrong ofc.

of course others thought this experience had mundane explanations like oxygen deprivation, i dont believe this is true.

had sister and nana over for days but now theyre both gone. time to get stuff done? wrong. time to study the upanishads and then waste time at the clubhouse because getting out makes my mom feel better.

need to look for a temporary dumbphone now that a tear in the back of the screen rendered the bottom half or so of the screen unusable
