so many God-loving and fearing men have been shunned as heretics for the least whiff of heterodoxy

if you love God with all your heart you cannot be a heretic. he who dwells in love dwells in God and God in him.

you say "mystic" i say yogi. a mystic who isn't a yogi is just a navel-gazer (this is funnier if you know the origin of the term navel-gazer).

christendom needs someone who is both a great scholar and a great yogi--so an ideal saint sage--to reconcile thomism and palamism and to heal the divide between west and east. such a person must also deal with the filoque (good) and papal infallibility (bad) of course. without a great person like that the divide will never be healed. it requires divine inspiration too. only God can heal Her church.

the foremost reason God incarnates is to establish highest dharma, religion, and yoga

no one embodies the vedantic ideal of the perfect yogi better than an incarnation of God

Christ was so we may be, Christ did so we may do. Christ participated in our humanity, we all participated in Christs suffering out of His compassion for us, so now we must participate in Christ's divinity. this means theosis, becoming perfect like God is perfect, its a participation requiring effort on our part. faith is part of it, good works are part of it, but more than anything we must sacrifice everything to Christ like he sacrificed Himself for us. His life was the perfect yajna for His father on our behalf. we must make everything we do, even our suffering, an offering to God like Christ did.
