mia@shrimptest.0x0.st@phnt my experience in germany so far has been that at least individuals hosting stuff are in practice exempt from basically all of that garbage for various reasons, but mostly the fact that the regulations target businesses specifically
not that it changes the long-term preparedness plan:
- part ways with the commercialized internet (http, web technology, x.509). a dependency on existing web browsers and security infrastructure is not acceptable.
- set up censorship-resistant overlay networks that can be disguised as ordinary web traffic
- equip people with resources and know-how for running short-distance mesh networks and organized sneakernets
- reverse the trend of increasingly inefficient software. access to fast hardware cannot be taken for granted.

older hero stories arent really about good vs evil but about men and women overcoming some type of adversity of their own.
you see this with ged when he fights his own gebbeth until he realises its a part of him and becomes one with it. alot of older stories are like that too no? characters are morally grey people who are only heros because they choose to deal with something instead of being handed some destiny.
tbf this isnt true for the farthest show and maybe atuan tho.
