In serious need of a hug
Why do I want my liver to be eaten by a foxxy lady?

@cell @papush_ @aetios the safety razor blades i use are half a cent each iirc and the shave was better for me than fancy stuff like feather

@aetios @papush_ showering before shaving does more for me than shaving cream/soap

Can't wait for supercaps to get good enough to replace batteries

@coolbean how would that make a battery go up in flames? The internal resistance goes up as they get cooler so at most it should warm the battery up again. Unless it was really really uneven ig

@coolbean i thought most liquid cool their batteries and also heat them with the same loop

@coolbean so it just heated up more in a specific spot or what? That sounds like a really retarded failure mode

@coolbean i love when i go outside at a few degrees negative and my camera loses half it's charge

@coolbean there's ocp that can be built in to cylindrical cells

@coolbean one thing that really annoys me about lithium batteroes is that they will just die if you let them sit around for too long. Some chemistries are more susceptible than others but i do have some that have barely been used and are completely unusable now

@coolbean ig that's a reason phones adopted lithium super early

@coolbean oh yeah, i think nimh cells had that annoying ass memory effect which would suck on stuff like phones

@coolbean just lemme plop my 18650s in there without fucking with a charge controller that will brick itself if it figures out what i'm doing reee

@snacks next up: i demand the total abolition of batteries with non-standard sizes and terminals. no more "2-4x 18650 cells in a proprietary plastic shell" bullshit, im sick of it

@coolbean the main draw of lithium is power and energy density. I still remember switching my first proper rc car from a good nimh pack to lithium and the difference was ridiculous.
It is staggering that a lot of modern chemistries are only rated for about 100 cycles tho

@coolbean where are you finding nimh cells over 900mah?

@coolbean also, ig the nimh cell in my first result is kinda shit but trying to find the best of both i still end up at around twice the energy per cell

@coolbean total usable energy is average voltage * capacity. Neither of these paramters matter a lot on their own since as you've said you can just put more or less in series

@coolbean according to the spec sheets the lithium ones are 1/10th the weight but that seems like an error
