Halloween Costume making

I need to make Minecraft diamond armor for a Halloween costume bc the premade ones are ugly.
It needs to be:
-sturdy (child resistant-ish)
-kinda flexible
-shiny
idk if Eva foam is stiff enough? I don’t want to use cardboard.
I was looking at vinyl wraps because they’re shiny but idk if they’d transfer well. Watched some videos of people trying it out with spray adhesives instead of heat and it seemed to hold well enough.
I COULD paint the foam, but does it crack? Can I find paint that’s shiny enough?
I just need it to look better than the store bought ones
