@chjara @pernia @VD15 i mean i slowly liked her less as she posted some seriously racist things (not just like slurs) combined with being a dick to a7 but ugh i wasn't brave enough to talk about it cause opal has a rep for going nuclear

@pernia @wowaname @461 @chjara @moth well the scope of the answer, "i do not host it (currently)" was narrow, when the allegation was that opal used to host it.

regardless this convo in abscence of proof is going no where, and anyway if opal did host it and 461 found the onion it would be taken down by now so the whole thing is fruitless.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname you're right. i just mentioned it cause i was accused of starting frivolous drama or just being querulous when there actually have been serious allegations. but yeah.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname it's not frivolous, you may be thinking of spurious.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname frivolous lawsuits are frivolous because they're vexatious. matters are frivolous if they are trifling. this is all just general usage, descriptive not prescriptive.
so yes spurious, for an allegation, is more fitting.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname or alternatively frivolous can mean insubstantive but it has a basis. the question us whether the source is legitimate.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname although actually while vexatious litigation is usually frivolous it could just be unduly burdensome... anyway i meant frivolous in the sense of being a cavil. not in the sense of being specious or spurious.

english words can have so many meanings i ought not to have gone down that rabbithole.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname are you seriously accusing me of not knowing what frivolous means, of course it doesn't mean confusing. yer out of your depth.

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname the problem here is you looked up vexatious and grabbed onto confusing somehow when vexatious litigation is frivolous litigation.
to vex is to try, to torment, to trouble, to perplex, it doesn't mean "confuse"

@pernia @461 @chjara @moth @wowaname disingenous and ingenuine are different. a person is disingenuous, a thing is ingenuine.
