i've been so disconnected from the terfosphere i thought that the piece i screenshotted was about fedi and making spinster, but it wasn't. it was about a new platform (apparently forming in response to r/gendercritical getting shut down in june? idk i haven't looked at that sub since 2018)

@nik gender critical was good for anti-porn anti-prostitution feminism and news about global male violence, along with it having a lot of detransitioned trans men and dysphoric women. i never posted there though, as i never had a reddit account.
most of it was straight up cringe transhate of course. and many users, especially after mumsnet cracked down, were straight up conservatives karens. so annoying.

@pernia the communities get more toxic as they fester in their own insulated chambers though. this does have a slight plus side, it's easy to cling to a group when you feel your speech is threatened and you're under attack, but once left alone with them you realize how shitty they are. in theory.
