@welt @Moon @guizzy @vriska freedom of, freedom from, it's semantics
i think everyone can agree that it fucking sucks that people die cause they're poor (often born into penury/abused/neglected/mentally ill)
and yknow if if they don't die they don't deserve to suffer so

@Moon @guizzy @vriska @welt i'm not talking about societal arrangements i'm talking about interpersonal moral obligations
it's possible to have a system that rewards selfishness less without actually enforcing prohuman behavior
right now everyone just cares about their own lawn and 401k and when stonks go down oh no my retirement and when low income housing goes up oh no my property valueerino

@guizzy @Moon @vriska @welt i mean the right to life is well established in classical liberal thought, no? doesn't take much to stretch it to not dying cause you can't afford medicine. but the free healthcare in current liberal demsoc sense is a bandage on a wound. one must ask why is this person unhealthy? why can't they afford it? why is it so expensive? it's tempting for keynesian liberal capitalist govs to just dump tax money in existing shit systems though
