In general, on foreign policy, MAGA Republicans want to be isolationist. Establishment Dems want to dominate the world while saying everything we're doing is in everybody's best interest. The left wants to work through the UN, letting the world community truly make the decisions and doing whatever they require of us. Or at least that's my reading of it. #uspol
War and isolationism? Are these our only two choices? In that case, I'm non-binary. @wjmaggos
I don't think I said that. Ultimately everything is going to come down to agreements of "you do this, we'll do that". hopefully before violence starts, but afterwards if peace can't be sustained.
I'm a lefty. We affect each other and we are always going to be self interested and somewhat blind to other's concerns. The first two options are not sustainable long-term. Problems fester. We have interests that voters won't let us ignore. Better to always be negotiating and deal fairly.
Muslims are commanded by their God to murder the unbelievers, especially the Jews. Too many of them eagerly accept this goal as their own. How exactly do you think a piece of paper is going to solve that little issue? It's not about land. It's about Jews living outside of Sharia. How many should be forced into sharia to pacify the Jihad? 30%? 50%? Because they want 100%. But I eagerly await your final solution. @wjmaggos
but somehow most of the people who call themselves Muslim already don't spend all their time murdering tho. I guess I will talk to them.
I didn't say "most" as you try to assert in your straw-man argument. I said "too many." Now, would you like to continue based on what I actually said? Do you want to argue that NO Muslims have taken up Jihad in order to slaughter nonbelievers as commanded? @wjmaggos
and I didn't say I was going to use a piece of paper. no I do not want to argue about Muslims and the percentage that believe they are supposed to kill nonbelievers and how many actually do or why you've reduced my commentary on US foreign policy to that.
people have interests. they kill each other. they form nations. I think we should all be trying to work it out more fairly that we do now and that this would make for a better world.
Get out of the way of people who are killing Hamas and Hisb'allah. That's a good start. Maybe don't identify with a movement that attacks Jews on campus, tears down statues of our founders, fields ANTIFA armies when street terror is on the menu, for starters? These are just suggestions off the top of my head. Until then you don't really have the moral ground to stand on re making the world a better place. @wjmaggos
no conspiracy is necessary. one might say the conspiracy mindset is a good distraction and way to keep people divided.
it's capitalism. the drive for profit leads corporations to manipulate politicians to use govts to serve their interests at home and abroad. the US is only the most obvious example because it has the most powerful military and provides voters with the least ability to make govt serve the public over the interests of donors.

I do not want to end capitalism but the incentives it plays into can eat away at society. same with socialism. we will never have either fully, and would hate it if we did. the best is a mixed economy with a strong democracy which we have to keep getting better at but also won't agree about cause it will affect everyone differently.
@dcc@annihilation.social @wjmaggos@liberal.city @Diceyocean@annihilation.social @truthbait@noauthority.social real capitalism has never been tried
@Diceyocean@annihilation.social @dcc@annihilation.social @wjmaggos@liberal.city @truthbait@noauthority.social capitalism is great if you don't have to work
@lucy @Diceyocean @dcc @arcana @wjmaggos @truthbait that sucks :/ my friend is also disabled and is treated like garbage by the system
Capitalism isn't the problem. Human corruption is the problem. I've yet to see the system that isn't infected with it. That's because humans are infected with it. Therefore, let's go with the system where the fewest corrupt humans have influence over people's daily lives. That's called free market capitalism under a representative republic. @anemone @dcc @wjmaggos @Diceyocean
@truthbait @anemone @dcc @Diceyocean
so you think wealth doesn't naturally concentrate, monopolies aren't inevitable and the ability to buy influence in the media won't bias who becomes our representatives? I do. add to this representatives getting paid off indirectly or afterwards.
and when this happens, a fully free market system that already leaves a lot of "losers" to suffer and die, leaves out more. and they organize to change the system. the cost to control them makes things worse etc.
@amerika@annihilation.social @dcc@annihilation.social @wjmaggos@liberal.city @truthbait@noauthority.social @Diceyocean@annihilation.social if we had true capitalism no one would work because they would just accumulate capital and collect dividends
@amerika@annihilation.social @dcc@annihilation.social @wjmaggos@liberal.city @truthbait@noauthority.social @Diceyocean@annihilation.social to whoever has the most capital
your post was not very clear but I think I responded to it. we are going to disagree on what we want in that mix and struggle to get it against those with more money when capitalism gives those more power in the democracy.
we must keep increasing the critical thinking of the public, the information flow and the responsiveness of the electoral system. shit does get better. the alternative is weak govt and assholes dominate, or you get a dictator.
Tell me you're a commie without telling me you're a commie. @wjmaggos @anemone @dcc @Diceyocean
