It's never "my hamster was old and I found it dead on its bed in the morning" it's always something like "my hamster jumped to try and reach a carrot I left on the table and fell, my saint bernard came running through the kitchen and rammed into the falling hamster, who was propelled into the industrial fan on the wall and turned to mist"

@nerthos @georgia hamsters are treated badly because they are seen as a low maintenance pet that children can have. Children to not understand how fragile they are or how much they hate being handled. They also do not have a grasp on mortality or what it means to die. They are often put in inappropriate enclosures because nobody does research on how to care for them

There's very few mammals more retarded than hamsters, in fact I can't think of any other animal that comes close.
And they fucking die from anything. A loud noise? Instakill. They sneeze too hard? Instakill. Slight anxiety? Time to devour my own offspring for no fucking reason. The hamster escapes his stupid plastic cage? He'll speedrun to die in the most stupid way imaginable like falling in a toilet all by himself or something. I actually wonder WHY an animal this fucking stupid didn't go extinct ages ago. I never feel bad for laughing at these retarded little shits dying in stupid ways.

They're marsupials, but the thing with koalas is that they're more balanced, they're abysmally retarded but more tough and resilient, and immune to poison (which is why nothing in the wild wants to eat them, because they literally eat poison). But hamsters are fully handicapped, pretty sure they're so prevalently retarded and die out of nowhere because of heavy inbreeding.
