@lucy It's stuck in the 2000s including the ass performance. The new FE is not to my liking to say the god damn least.

@kirby @lucy running latest pleroma is like torture

@authen @lucy It's not terrible but only if you use an older FE with it. They added a god damn loading screen to the develop FE now iirc...

@lucy imagine wanting "modern" web design where each page has 500mb of dependencies and kills and eats half your RAM.

@snacks @lucy I really like bloat but I just can't see the point of using it when I'm on an instance with emoji react support

@kirby @lucy it’s ironic that pisskey’s FE is somehow several times more bloated but also more responsive and memory-efficient than akkoma-fe…

@mia @kirby misskey'S fe is several times slower than akkoma-fe

@mia @lucy it probably imports like 4 billion more node packages than akkoma fe tbh

@lucy yeah but it does suck. can't open threads with more than 30 replies without my computer cumming and nutting everywhere.

@lucy
It's more like the earlier 2010's. Like Youtube and Twitter pre-redesign

@snacks @lucy @kirby foundkey actually had a faster FE than iceshrimp but i’m pretty sure that was due to unintentionally more efficient CSS/DOM structure

misskey’s frontend wasn’t any slower than iceshrimp on my instance so i’m pretty sure it’s a network issue. your ISP is pretty terrible, e.g. bubbletea loads orders of magnitude faster just by routing traffic via my hetzner server

@anemone @lucy @kirby i’ve configured akkoma-fe on my iceshrimp instance for shits and giggles and i’ve also had a pleroma instance before i switched to misskey

and yeah akkoma-fe is definitely much slower

@lucy @anemone @kirby it was a test but it was only partially working due to api incompatibility. i didn’t keep it around because of that and the fact that it was laggy as shit compared to the native fe
