Alpine has been more stable than even Debian for our server usage, also simpler and easier to customize. Would recommend fo real.

@dushman wish I could run pihole on alpine, in a supported way. I have some lightweight machines that could probably benefit from it.

@kirby @dushman I'm talking about single board computers that probably have esoteric hardware. Then again I ran m0n0wall on one of them way back when, so... maybe.

Switch repos to new release and update as normal. Alpine is dead simple.

Do they not? I don't remember. All you need to do is change the version number in the urls in the repositories config file.

sed -i -e 's/v3\.20/v3\.21/g' /etc/apk/repositories is one of the easier ways to deal with more than a couple of machines. can be exec’d over ssh/ansible/whatever.
