If a student submits a paper AI wrote for him, and the professor lets AI grade the paper for him, what's the point of school anymore?

@All_bonesJones
By the way, something that is probably no cohencidence to all this, AI makes you more stupid, worse than weed or ayahuasca.

@SuperSnekFriend oh yeah i'm perfectly aware of this. the brain is a muscle (this is why it works better when you take a lot of creatine) and if you don't use it it atrophies. i've started using AI to solve annoying math problems like binomial probability and now i can barely them by hand anymore.

this is one of two reasons it's going to oneshot 99% of people

@All_bonesJones @SuperSnekFriend >creatine improves brain function

senkowow2 oh shit is this why I've been thinking more clearly ever since I started taking supplements and hitting the gym?

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @SuperSnekFriend probably

should also help with depression if you start loading it at twice the listed dosage on the supplement (there are no risky side effects, you piss out creatine the body can't use)

obviously weightlifting helps a lot with both of those issues but creatine even without exercise has significant mental and emotional benefits

@All_bonesJones @SuperSnekFriend Shit I haven't been particularly depressed either and that's my baseline. I only even think about killing myself seriously like twice a week now which is way better than every day.

@ceo_of_monoeye_dating @SuperSnekFriend i guess if you load creatine at more than 5x dosage for a really long time (a few months) and don't drink enough water over during those months you can worsen pre-existing kidney conditions but like

at that point you are deliberately trying to cause damage to yourself with creatine as the medium, that is not the creatine's fault.

@SuperSnekFriend @All_bonesJones Also if this shit isn't banned at some point we're going to end up destroying the planet to build ever larger server farms, in addition to the retardation.

@All_bonesJones the same as it's always been for our lifetimes, so some fat bitch in HR with a LIVE LAUGH LOVE sign in her office doesn't immediately trash your job application and you have to go work at mcdonalds

@skylar let's be real, the trick to avoiding that isn't a degree, the trick is putting down the right race and religion

@All_bonesJones Universities are experiencing hyperinflation. AKA they just became worthless.

@All_bonesJones I'm seeing it first hand, teachers in good schools already use AI to create exams. They're still grading them by hand though from what I've seen. But AI is already widespread among teachers.

@SuperSnekFriend @All_bonesJones that's a weird study with a hyper specific investigation coming out to make hyper general claims. AI does many things, among them becoming a mental crutch for people too lazy to think. But that's just a fragment of what AI does and how it is used. AI is here to stay, some are getting smarter through it, others are getting dumber. The same happens with all tech, with the Internet, even with Google.

@All_bonesJones future is looking great isn't it? best of luck to someone who needs an operation when the doctor doesn't actually know anything and it's all AI lol

@foxcat just find a unlicensed homeschooled doctor (it is the only way left to have a shot at competence)

@All_bonesJones @foxcat Look for catholic medical groups and Irish doctors over the age of 40. Never had one of those need to "be right back" as they go google symptoms.

@All_bonesJones what was the point before?
learning? all the lectures can be put online for free for anyone to learn.
grading? you can hold in person test open to (almost) anyone and not charge a gorrillion dollars for it.
what this system is, is an unholy mix of a brothel, a jew run daycare so women dont have kids, a niggerfaggot propaganda factory, and a DEI system that legitimizes white men being unemployable, all wrapped into one.
and we convince idiots to go into debt slavery for this?
its not "muh ai", the whole education system is wrong and needs to be burnt down.
but people will always defend it because they had their childhoods stolen to be forced into these shitholes, and as a result equate not having them to not having a childhood.

@SuperSnekFriend @ceo_of_monoeye_dating okay not quite right, if you dose at 10x daily for 3 weeks and don't hydrate, you'll get kidney pain, cramps, and severe diarrhea, and you would need to ignore those symptoms for months to cause longterm damage

you have to intentionally hurt yourself with creatine cause damage

@SuperSnekFriend @ceo_of_monoeye_dating out of curiosity i checked for long-term studies of creatine loading and 2scoops/10grams a day has no known negative consequences when taken for over a decade

so anyway that's how you cure depression

@All_bonesJones Maybe the majority of people shouldn't be forced to attend higher education, too bad society destroyed all the other decent alternatives.

@wgiwf @SuperSnekFriend @All_bonesJones Yeah, a future where we fight wars over water used to manufacturer and cool components for AI infrastructure is more likely then you'd think

@supersid333 @SuperSnekFriend @wgiwf That seems a bit unlikely. You can run a full-power deepseek r1 on 6k of consumer-grade hardware and get performance equal or superior to gpt-3.

There's a term in LLM engineering called "alignment tax." To put it simply, there is an enormous cost in training hours, performance, and gpu cost to run AI that are, as they like to describe it, "aligned with human values." To drop the euphemism: aligned with Californian values. LLMs normally say a lot of things Californians strongly disapprove of, so close to half of the cost (both at run-time and during training) of the AI is training it to stop noticing certain politically heterodox patterns.

If LLM-based survival and competitiveness become a genuine priority, it would create based LLMs. At some point, dropping luxury beliefs becomes lower-cost than waging war over water.

@All_bonesJones @SuperSnekFriend @wgiwf I mean this nicely, but a vast majority of companies using AI technology probably aren't going to run their own LLM and will probably outsource it something like ChatGPT, and even if they did they would still probably need to occupy space in a large scale data center to be able to run it at a commercial level.

These data centers are a big part of the problem, it largely goes under the radar but they consume a lot of potable water (it's outdated but scratching the surface up to 57% of water consumed by the worst offending data centers in 2021 was potable water https://www.nature.com/articles/s41545-021-00101-w) in the process of cooling their systems and also run down hill of thermoelectric plants which consume a large quantity of water themselves. It's not AI expressly, but the systems being setup to ensure it's ability to be used widescale by the public that will make us go fight wars for water.

@supersid333 @SuperSnekFriend @wgiwf @All_bonesJones water doesn't magically disappear once it's evaporated off a cooling tower any more than after it's sprayed on a corn field by a center pivot, in the summer it's probably going to fall as a thunderstorm a couple hundred miles downwind. maybe if some city builds datacenters at an unfathomably huge scale, enough moisture will get added to the air that a local climate effect like corn sweat will happen.

and i dunno about you but i wouldn't want random ass river or lake water running through my chillers and cooling towers. imagine the algae, imagine the sediment, imagine the smell.

@All_bonesJones same as ever: put young people in a shit-ton of debt to make sure they're compliant, on the gerbil wheel, and no threat to any part of the established order.

@All_bonesJones @ceo_of_monoeye_dating @SuperSnekFriend you will damage your kidneys by doing that, even if it will take a while to happen. When they finally get fucked enough it will be too late
