@vriska @lebronjames75 by that logic all dairy products are weird (they are, and cruel) (I eat them cause I'm a hypocrite, but not often)

Sneaking a cheeky drink from someone else's teat is natural, and good and only the laws of this land stop me.

@georgia @lebronjames75 it's less weird to eat cheese than it is to drink milk

@vriska dogs love it but it's bad in big amounts for most dogs (not all!) , same for humans
Dogs can have a little bit of cheese or milk, as a treat

@vriska It's not a question of willingness, it's a question of efficiency and practicality. Domestic cats and dogs will gladly drink milk if offered, and it's reasonable to extrapolate that large felines/canines will too, but in nature milk is not worth the energy it costs to obtain it. These predators get much more "bang for buck" by eating their prey than they would from sucking its milk.
However we naked apes invented farming, and milk became easily accessible (at another creature's expense).

@antsu humans are giving domestic animals milk they would never get in a natural state

@vriska This is why other species are beholden to the whims of humanity. We defeated them and drank their milk to establish dominance. The protein that should strenghten their warriors strenghten ours instead.

@vriska breast feeding animals used to be more frequent in both directions, most animals dont engaging in such extreme symbiosis so itd be hard to find an example in mammals, ants "milk" excretians from those aphids and eat that.

honey is as close as youd get for solitary animals, animals arent stockpiling milk that could get robbed by bears
