the 2019 base price was under 6000$ iirc
also the mac pro is not worth the money even if 12000 was cheap
they disabled gpus with apple silicon

i needed 16gb ram in my ipad for my art but only needed 256gb ssd (realistically only 64gb but they dont offer)
to get 16gb i had to pay for 2 storage upgrades that im never going to use since they tie the ram to ssd size
