@augustus @hfaust i think not making it a felony to buy something you can get in normal stores in many cities in the US is a good thing, actually

@lain @augustus @hfaust what was the deal with Biden not being able to do this in January before he left office? It was on the table and never happened and I don't remember why

@lain @augustus They still need to remove the "felony" part but if some corporate backer gives Trump enough incentive, then you will have Uber Weed in no time.

@lain @hfaust I've oscillated on this over the years but I have no strong position

@augustus @hfaust i guess some of it is just the legalist mindset of the westerner. there's zero problems with software engineers playing mario kart while smoking on their thc vape. execs taking cocaine have also never bothered anyone, or at least they showed up for work the next day. but you can't let these habits get to people who can't handle it, so you need to make 'laws'.

@feld @lain @hfaust I heard that guy who stabbed Rob Reiner to death was out of his mind on ultra-strength marijuana and it turned him into a stone cold killer

They gotta do cocaine too or else it's unfair. Everyone knows potheads are mostly all Democrats.

@lain @augustus But isn't that just an US problem? I mean, there are still dry countries even after the ratification of the 21st Amendment.

@hfaust @augustus dry counties are sensible, if you want your local community to not have any alcohol/weed/anime you should be free to do so. the situation with grass in the US is the reverse, local communities think there's no issue but the feds put you in jail for it.

@lain @augustus @hfaust It won't be so profitable when reefer madness hits, the death toll will be staggering.
