@shibao youre right that Israels conduct makes chinas look mild, but Jews are still indigenous to Palestine, they should just share the land with others. and there are more "ethnostates" by your definition than you know, states with laws of return, official language, official religion, etc. and don't forget israel has armenians, druze, samaritans, and other ethnic groups, not just arabs who feel (are) disenfranchised.

@scathach @shibao thats just not true, genetic studies on Jews find a common Levantine paternal origin that predates the diaspora. this has always been the jewish understanding of ourselves as well. youre a fool if you think any jews are indigenous to central Europe, and they certainly werent treated that way. its a totally different ethnicity.

@scathach @shibao funny how you think dwelling amongst the gentiles for a time makes us effectively a gentile ethnic group but you dont think different "jewish ethnicities" dwelling together as a common nation would make us a new Israel. personally I believe that a national understanding of ourselves as one people + common preservation of the Israelite language and religion + genetics makes a very compelling case that we are as we always said we were. but to each their own.

I do think the separation between social status within a same national group that identifies itself primarily as said national group is much smaller than social status separation+active identification as a separate group. That's why I put up Sparta as an example, since their ruling and warrior castes actively considered themselves a ruling conquering minority in the region, separate from the land and people they ruled over. In the latter case, there's no motivation other than overlapping short term economic interest to pursue the wellbeing of the ruled. In the former, there is.

It was evil shit, but it was profitable evil shit. Consequentially, Germany had an interest in self-defense against the British desire to sabotage or stop its growth.
