adult krishna of the bhagavata purana is frankly a huge disappointment for those looking for more of the God we found in the Bhagavad Gita. he simply doesnt reflect the true character of God. God is above dharma and adharma but He should also be the highest example to follow in his avataras, even if not always literally. but Krishna in this purana is quick to anger, easily appeased by praise, and munificent first and foremost to those who are born well (or are his devotees, which does make sense). krishna shows mercy onto some of those he kills by granting them liberation, but this is depicted more as a reflection of either the purity of his body which touches them or of the potency of absorption on God, even if it takes the form of enmity with God. this is an interesting message but I dont think it truly reflects Gods infinite mercy, also because the kinds of liberation they receive are typically "inferior" forms.
